The Story

In 2004, the Delacour Vineyards acquire “Le Clos des Templiers” in another prestigious appellation Lalande de Pomerol. It takes its name from ending the Templars, whom he served as relay in the Middle Ages. Early vines are restructured. The cellar waits 2010 before being modernized.

The origin of the name “Clos des Templiers” dates back to the twelfth century since this place served as a relay to the Knights of the Templars.

The Wineyard

This restricted production of 1.5 ha stands on a gravelly-clay soil with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 40 years and the planting density is of 6900 grape plants/ha.

The Chai

The grapes are from the vines planted in the district of Néac, one of the best terroirs of AOC Lalande de Pomerol and are vinified in the newly restructured winery in the region of Pomerol. The cellar is composed of stainless steel and concrete tanks that permit a plots vinification . Thermoregulation has been modernized to ensure optimum control.
